The Cincinnati Cyclones have signed Colorado College netminder Kaidan Mbereko, an NCHC standout this season, per the Cyclones website.
He was one of the best goalies in the NCHC this season, putting up a 2.53 GAA and a 0.915 SV% in 30 games as the captain of a solid Tigers squad.
Colorado College finished sixth in the NCHC, arguably the best conference in college hockey, and Mbereko played a big part in it. He put up great numbers against the likes of North Dakota, Western Michigan, Denver, & other top teams loaded with NHL draft picks.
This is a great pickup for the Cyclones and should immediately help their consistency in goal. How the goaltending room will be handled remains to be seen, but it is a crowded one right now with Tommy Scarfone, Ken Appleby, and now Mbereko.
