CINCINNATI, Ohio- On Friday night, the Rapid City Rush traveled to Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati to face the Cyclones in a tightly contested Central Division matchup. The Rush struck early, scoring two goals in the first seven minutes of play. Cameron Buhl scored twice and Ryan Chyzowski added another.
Despite holding the lead through most of the game, Rapid City couldn’t hold off a Cyclones comeback. John Jaworski sparked Cincinnati’s offense, scoring three times, including the overtime winner, as the Cyclones rallied to a 5–4 overtime victory.
Rapid City goaltender Rico DiMatteo earned credit for a rare goal on a delayed penalty after Cincinnati accidentally put the puck into its own empty net.
